1 Receptionist

General Purpose

Attend to visitors and deal with inquiries on the phone and face to face. Supply information regarding the organization to the general public, clients and customers.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities

  • answer telephone, screen and direct calls
  • take and relay accurate messages
  • provide information to callers
  • greet persons entering organization
  • direct persons to correct destination
  • deal with queries from the public and customers
  • ensure knowledge of staff movements in and out of organization
  • monitor visitor access and maintain security awareness

  • receive and sort mail and deliveries
  • oversight of the computer lab on the main floor
  • prepare and sort materials for the Executive Director
  • organize conference and meeting room bookings
  • co-ordinate meetings and organize catering

  • control inventory relevant to reception area
  • tidy and maintain the reception and surrounding areas

Education and Experience

2. Before & After School Instructor

  • Attend internal meetings, external trainings as required
  • Plan for and facilitate weekly lesson plans
  • Manage a grade-based before/after school classroom
  • Provide structured homework help
  • Manage (MHLC trained) high school and college volunteers so they can effectively interact with your students and provide one-on-one tutoring and homework help
  • Plan engaging enrichment programming that aligns with the school day curriculum and further supports what students are learning in school
  • Report after school accidents and / or incidents on the after school incident report form promptly, give form to site coordinator and / or program director
  • Teach STEAM-based curriculum
  • Facilitate a FUN club activity based on students expressed interests
  • Complete weekly parent reports on a timely basis and submit to the Program Director
  • Participate in regular MHLC trainings, as well as additional training opportunities when recommended by Site Coordinator and/or Program Director
  • Proactively engage groups of students during pick-up time (between 5-5:45) (for example: manage the homework table, set up an arts and crafts table, facilitate the chess table)
  • Clean up the cafeteria space and contribute to leaving it better then we found it prior to leaving at 6pm
  • BCI check, CANTS clearance and fingerprinting required

3. Before School Instructor Job Description:

  • Ability to work Monday – Friday 6:30 AM – 8:30 AM
  • Manage a group of 40+ children with the help other morning care staff
  • Hand out breakfast
  • Play games with children
  • Provide homework help if needed
  • Clean up cafeteria space
  • CPR and First Aide Certified a plus

BCI, CANTS clearance and fingerprinting required
