School Age

At the Mt. Hope Learning Center, our goal is to provide a safe environment in which children and adults of the community can learn the skills that will enable them to have more productive futures. We believe that it is important to get involved in the lives of children at an early age;  we do so by offering a variety of opportunities for the children in the Mt. Hope neighborhood and the Martin Luther King, Jr. Elementary School.

Pre-K (4 Yr Olds Only)

We are now accepting pre-k enrollments for morning and after school care. This program will be provided in K-1, the pre-k classroom. Students will be signed in and out through the K-1 door in the K Courtyard (behind the school). Cost for morning care is $45 per week. (6:30 am – 9:00 am) Cost for After School is on a sliding scale between $50 and $85 per week based on your income and family size. We also accept DHS Child Care Assistance. (3:30 pm – 5:45 pm)

Morning Care

We provide morning care for your convenience. Our staff arrive at the school at 6:30 am daily to provide breakfast and care for your children before school starts. The fee for our morning care program is $40 per week (6:30 am – 8:30 am)

21st Century After School Program

The 21st Century After School Program is offered to children at Martin Luther King, Jr. Elementary School Monday through Friday. During the after school time children have the opportunity to receive help with their homework, obtain academic support, and participate in enrichment programs in a safe and welcoming environment that is supervised by our Director of Programs and our qualified instructors.   The program is on a sliding scale between $40 and $75 based on your income and family size. We also accept DHS Child Care Assistance.  Children go directly from school to the cafeteria and must be picked up in the hallway through the MLK main entrance no later than 5:45 pm.

Friday STEAM Clubs

The Mt. Hope Learning Center offers S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) based activities on Fridays. Students who are not in our weekly program can sign up for the extended day program. (2:15 pm to 5:45 pm) S.T.E.A.M. sessions run for six weeks for $60 per session.  Each student will participate in one hour of a  STEAM based hands-on activity, an half hour of physical activity,  and another hour of a choice based Club.  Pick up is between 5:00 pm and 5:45 pm. (Snacks are provided.)
